Technicians perform a variety of laboratory-based activities, which can be related to either medical testing on current patients or ongoing medical research. Typical tasks include: preparing samples; analysing and presenting test results to senior members of staff; performing tests under laboratory conditions; and operating equipment such as titrators and centrifuges. Technicians can be employed by hospitals, research facilities, or even direct by government bodies.
